The 2011 Birth Forest planting will take place at Oct. 3. The exact location of where this years trees will be planted is yet to be officially decided. Anyone interested in planting a tree in honor of their baby’s birth can call the town of Chestermere at 403-207-7050. The cost to plant a tree is $25.

During the evening of Sept. 16, 2011 members of the Chestermere RCMP detachment assisted a Calgary Police Service targeted enforcement team with a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a Chestermere residence in the area of East Lakeview Court.The CPS had been investigating cocaine trafficking at a business in Calgary for an extended period of time, and information obtained through this investigation led to the CDSA search warrant in Chestermere. Two Chestermere residents were arrested and will be charged for cocaine possession/trafficking in Calgary. Neither of the arrests took place in Chestermere. Incident to the search warrant execution, a small amount of cocaine and a significant amount of Canadian currency was located and seized. The arrest and processing of charges will be handled by the CPS.
The first annual Community Toy/Clothing/Equipment sale will be taking place in Langdon on Saturday, Sept 24. It will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Langdon Fieldhouse. There will be lots of pre-loved items to be bought and sold. There will also be a bake sale table run by the Langdon Community Association. Admission is $1.
