The Library will also be hosting an “Eat to Live” seminar on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. Foods and chemicals to avoid will be discussed, as well as reports about carcinogens, GMO’s and trans fats. Register in person or by calling the Library at 403-272-9025. Drop-ins are also welcome.
The Library will also be hosting a free financial education workshop, talking about how to manage and pay off debt, secure the future financially, secure funds for education and financially secure retirement. The session will be held on Feb. 29 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Please register at the front desk.
The Ducks Unlimited banquet is this Saturday Feb. 11 at the Recreation Centre, and tickets are still available. There will be a dinner, as well as a silent auction and live auction . The live auction features a live auctioneer, and numerous vacation packages and other exciting items will go up for bid. Cocktails and raffle sales will begin at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m., and the auction to follow. The event is for adults only, and tickets are $50 each, or $425 for a reserved table of eight. The Comedy Night to raise funds for Chestermere High School programs will be held this Saturday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Chestermere Recreation Centre. The evening will feature the comedy of “Kaboom…Hooray!” as well as live music by local duo Gypsy and the Rose. There will also be a silent auction and cash bar. Tickets to the event are $20, which includes one ticket for the door prize draw and a free drink. This event is not open to minors.
