GRAD 2012
Congratulations to all of our seniors who attended the graduation ceremonies this past weekend. You all looked fantastic.

BOYS’ RUGBY
Last week the boys finished their season with a 27-10 loss to Strathnmore. Scoring tries were Wade Zimmerman and Devon Westby. Chestermere boys’ rugby had a strong building year with more than half the team rookies to the sport. The athletes confronted the challenges before them, and worked hard to acquire the skills and strength required for success in upcoming years, and throughout their high school careers. The boys put forth huge efforts in all their regular season games, and showed true grit, determination and have a strong base on which to build the program over the coming years. Despite a losing season, the boys scored in every single game, and show great promise for the future of rugby at CHS.. We look forward to a winning season next year. Thank you to all the fans, faculty and community assistance received over the season; we could not have done it without the support of our community. Thanks to Coach Autet and the assistant coaches for all of your efforts in building rugby at the school.

GIRLS’ RUGBY
The girls lost their playoff game last week as they took on Strathmore at the Calgary Rugby Union finale. The girls had a good game and enjoyed the finale. Kyla Cochlan scored one try for the Lakers. This ended the season for the girls. Thanks to the coaches for all your time, expertise and effort. Congratulations to the girls on your season.

SPRING FOOTBALL
The Cowboys will finish their spring camp this week. The main camp will begin in August, prior to the start of school. For information please e-mail me for a package or check the web-site at the end of June.

COW PATTY BINGO
The parents’ Athletic Association is holding a “Cow Patty Bingo” prior to the Athletic Awards Night on Wednesday June 13. This involves setting up a grid on the football field and setting a cow loose. The winner is determined by the square closest to where the cow “poops.” Squares are $20 each and the grand prize is $1000. The cqw will be set loose on the field from 5-6:30. You can purchase a ticket from Lori Zaremba in the business office. All proceeds help support the athletic program at the school.

ATHLETIC AWARDS NIGHT
Please note that our annual Athletic Awards Night will take place on Wednesday, June 13 at 6:30. Snacks and beverages will be supplied by the Culinary Arts program. We will be entertained by Chestermere’s own Keister Family Fiddlers. Mark it on your calendar and plan on attending this event. All athletes and parents are invited to attend. All athletes will receive a free ticket. Guest tickets are available for $5. Tickets are available in Room 1037 at noon hour.
