Chestermere – The holidays are a time that we spend with family and friends, to reflect on the year behind us, and a time to remember the joy and magic of the season. A family in need often misses out on the joy and magic that such a special season can bring. Christmas With Dignity can help to preserve the magic of the holiday’s for all families in Chestermere.
For a family in need, the simple act of buying a Christmas gift for their child is not easy and it isn’t because the child is hard to shop for! Financial hardships experienced through the holiday season are more than merely reaching the credit limit and receiving the bill in January, it is more than spending a few extra dollars at the grocery store to feed the extra people around the table. It is the financial hardships such as not being able to pay the electrical or telephone bill for the month or being unable to buy that much needed medication. In some instances taking care of the necessities to survive can leave the material things, such as gift giving, hanging in the balance. Parents want their children to experience the magic and spirit of Christmas and having the ability to purchase gifts for them is the greatest gift of all.
Through Christmas With Dignity we can ensure that all families in Chestermere truly have a magical Christmas season. Christmas With Dignity has been running since 2007 and we are excited to embark on the sixth year of this journey. Donations go to families to help with such things as utility bills, medication, dental needs, food, and housing. The financial hardships felt by these families can be alleviated by the simple act of paying a bill or two and allows flexibility in their budget to provide Christmas gifts for their children.
