Emily Potts, a veteran of the Raiders team, is from Calgary, Alberta. She attends Grade 12 at Chestermere High School. Emily started skating lessons at the young age of 3. Quickly becoming bored with figure skating, she decided she wanted to play hockey like her older cousin, Kristy. At the age of 5 Emily started playing hockey with the Crowfoot Girls Novice team. Shortly after, she played Tier 1 boys hockey in Cochrane from Novice to Pee Wee. She then played for the Rocky Mountain Raiders AAA Bantam Female team for 2 years. Emily is now in her second year of playing with the Highwood Raiders AAA Midget Female team. Congratulations to Emily for receiving the Top Scorer Award 3 years in a row with the Raiders organization. In addition Emily’s hockey resume includes playing for Team Alberta-Zone 2 in the Alberta Winter Games (gold medal) and in the Alberta Challenge Cup (silver medal). She was invited to the Team Alberta U16 and U18 camps and was selected to play on the AMMFHL South All-Star team last year. This past fall she was invited to play for the Western Canada Storm (which is made up of selected players from BC, AB, Sask & Man) in the NAHA tournament in Burlington, Vermont. Emily’s favorite hockey memory is winning a gold medal in the Alberta Winter Games while playing for Team Alberta. Emily also enjoys travelling, camping and most other sports. Upon graduating, her aspirations are to receive a post-secondary scholarship and pursue a career in Health Sciences.
The current standings for the Highwood Raiders is 3 wins, 5 losses and 6 ties. Keep on skating girls!
