Blackie, Alberta is home to veteran Raider Kassandra Wells. Kassey, as she is known by her team mates, did not start playing hockey until she was Atom age. She started watching NHL games with her Dad and decided she wanted to play. From there, she played boys hockey until her first year Bantam. She switched to female hockey and played Midget A with the Okotoks Oilers. It was a great season as the Oilers won Provincials that year and is top on Kassey’s list of favorite hockey memories. This season marks Kassey’s second year with the Highwood Raiders team. Kassey enjoys playing baseball in the summer and realistically admits that she really has no other hobbies as she only has time for hockey and school. 2013 marks Kassey’s graduation year. Following graduation, Kassey hopes to play hockey for the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns taking general studies in her first year. The sky’s the limit for Kassey, best of luck in your future endeavours.
