TD & Asset In the LOOP

Bernie and Deanna cheque presentation

CHESTERMERE – The TD Canada Trust Bank in Chestermere has been a strong supporter of the Loop Around the Lake for several years, 4 years to be exact. Deanna Hoeschen, Branch manager, says “TD always does a lot for education, learning, reading, writing etc. right across Canada”. “The money goes to the library and the library’s such a good cause for the community, everyone can benefit from it”. The funds raised by the Loop Around the Lake go to the Chestermere Library.
The Chestermere TD branch will have 3 participants running in the race and a few other eager representatives from TD branches in Calgary.
The long term goal (10 years) is to raise $100,000; so far $37,200, including a portion contributed by the Government of Alberta and local establishments, has been raised for the library.
Bernie Maillot, the LAL organizer, is so grateful for all the support from all of the sponsors and in addition to the TD contribution really wanted to give credit to another big supporter. This company has been with him every step of the way; Asset Insurance Brokers on the east side of the Lake is the company that insures the race. Bernie says “Between TD Canada Trust and Asset Insurance the support has been huge”. Mona Webster from the insurance company says “Asset has been a strong supporter of Bernie’s cause since day one, we love his cause”; they have been insuring the event from the beginning. Mona was also representing the Chestermere Chamber of Commerce, as secretary of the Chamber, saying that the Chamber fully supports Bernie’s efforts as well.
Bernie has about 140-150 runners signed up for the race and is taking registration up midnight of September 13.
It is with thanks to all of you who supported and worked toward this amazing community resource and continue to build its success that this facility has become a reality and you continue to make it grow.
The 4th Annual Loop Around Chestermere Lake will take place on Sunday September 16th 2012. This year a 1/2 Marathon Distance (21K) (8 am start)will be held in addition to the original 11.2 km and 5km runs (8:30 start). A children’s 1km run will again be part of the 2012 Loop Around the Lake, starting at 10:00 AM. With all of your good spirits and enthusiasm, this race will inevitably be a great success. Thank you again for your interest and participation.
