Those that attended the family picnic had a fun time. Games were played but the water toss and fight was the hit of the day. Concession went great with reasonable prices. Overall it was great success with a little mix-up of the time starting. Hopefully this will become an annual event. I couldn’t be there as I went to my granddaughter in law to be bridal shower in Drumheller.
Condolences go to Kevin and Sharla Desjardins and family with the recent passing of Kevin’s Grandmother in Laurier, Manitoba. Kevin flew to Manitoba to attend the funeral and got to visit with a lot of her relatives even his sister from Quebec City.
Taylor Desjardins along with about 90 other grade 9 students went on a eastern trip of Canada for a week, there they got to see and do a lot of things . They even got to go to a Blue Jays game in Toronto, ride on the Maid of Mist at Niagara Falls, visited Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City. Every day was jam packed with the students only getting 8 hours of sleep and one night 4 hours of sleep but they all enjoyed themselves immensely. He was lucky enough to be able that his Aunt, Uncle and cousins in Quebec City could spend the day with the group and got taken out to lunch by them. Taylor said the trip was awesome and a great opportunity for the students to see another part of Canada. It is great that the school has these kind of trips, otherwise some kids wouldn’t be given the opportunity to travel.
The Junior High School had their awards last week. The students from this area that got awards were Kyra Keer for Grade 9 Honors with Distinction, Language Arts and Animation. Blake Wenstom for Shop and Taylor Desjardins for Physical Education, plus Taylor had received awards earlier that day for Math, Volleyball and Gym. Congratulations on your hard work. Kyra and Taylor are off to Senior high this fall. Good luck.
