Lyalta news – harvest, potluck dinner and hypnotist show

Harvest is finished now, that is what was left in some areas to combine as the big white combine got there first. The weather held out for the most part. Hope things went great for the farmers. Some city folks don’t understand the farming concept, they just go to the store to get their groceries but don’t stop to think where they came from in the first place. Good thing there is Agri Days for the kids to learn these things.

A big Thank You goes out to the members and non members who helped out with our Casino the first part of Sept. especially when it was in harvest time. We really appreciated your help and time. This is our big fund raiser and means that the Community Club can keep on running and to remain open, which is very important to the area.

This invitation goes out to the people in the area, you don’t have to be a member to attend. Please join us at the Lyalta Community Centre for a community get together Saturday, September 29. There will be various things to do OR just sit back and meet friends or catch up with old ones! Horseshoe tournament will start at 3:00pm Sharp. LOTS of kids activities starting at 3:30pm. POTLUCK dinner to start at 6:30 pm – please bring a side dish or dessert and your meat. A BBQ will be provided. We will have a special treat at the end of the night at 9:00ish, we will be showing a movie on the side of the hall, so bring your lawn chairs, sleeping bags, snacks and sit back and enjoy. If you only can make it for part of the afternoon or evening, we would like to see you there. If you have any questions, please call Kim @403-935-9964. Hope to see you there. THIS IS A FREE FAMILY event brought to you by the Lyalta Rec. Association.

Tickets are now on sale for the Hypnotist Show on Oct, 20 with Jamie Pruden. Plan on coming for some great laughter. Door and bar opens at 7:00pm with the show to start at 8:00pm and lunch to follow and visiting to round off the evening. Tickets are $30.00 and can be ordered by calling Bev @ 403-934-4235. These shows always prove to be great entertainment, so hoping we see you there. This is a fund raiser for the Lyalta Community Club.

Schools back in now, so now volleyball has started and some hockey has too but will be going in full swing soon. So some parents will be going in all directions and kept busy with practices, games and tournaments.

Birthdays greetings for Sept. go to : Myranda Stewart, Owen =Bartelen, Sherry Lacroix and Stephanie Holly. Anniversary wishes go to Dave & Denise Shkuratoff and Karrie & Glenn Shultz.

Thought for the day: In business, you don’t get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate.
