First peruse the Chestermere Country Fair Booklet to determine which categories you wish to enter. Needless to say preparation of entries will take place beforehand – whether started months earlier for some handicrafts, wines, beers, photos, art etc or as late as Friday afternoon to ensure the freshest baked goods to dazzle the judges. The more you enter the more chances you have,to win. Once you have decided on your entries check the booklet to confirm rules and other entry details.
Prepare your entry. Copy and fill out the entry form on page 24 of the booklet. Each , entry also requires an entry tag. Booklets and entry tags are available at the Chestermere Rec Centre Office now or these may be filled out when you bring your entry in on Friday Sept 7. As the entry area may be very congested at times I recommend filling out the entry form and tags at home beforehand. If you require assistance volunteers feel free to work with the Volunteers to confirm the process, as well as to discuss (and maybe change) the entry class based on their knowledge. There is nothing worse than having the entry rejected for the wrong number of flowers or cookies, or for being entered in the wrong category. Also ensure the class number is correct – both for judging, and for the entry to be placed in the appropriate location for judging. I once had an entry rejected for judging as it had the incorrect class name and number!
Entries are to be delivered to the Chestermere Rec Centre Friday Sept 7, 2012 between 11 am to 6 pm with judging Friday evening. Saturday morning at 10:00 the Curling Rink is opened to the public for viewing, with entries to be picked up between 4 and 5 pm.. Needless to say, preparation of entries will take place beforehand – whether started months earlier for some handicrafts, or wines or beers, or Friday afternoon to ensure the freshest baked goods to dazzle the judges.
Good Luck with your 2012 entry, and we hope to see you again in future years.
