Angels on High Rev. John Nemanic poses with parishioneers at AOH wind-up party

This past weekend, the St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish community celebrated the success of their first annual Angels on High fundraiser. With a goal to raise $50,000 toward the future church building, Rev. John Nemanic was happy to announce they have surpassed that goal and are now sitting at close to $55,000 for total amount raised.

In August, a group of parishioners and priests climbed Mt. Temple in Banff National Park while collecting pledged and donations as well as gaining vital corporate sponsors such as Corinne Watson with CIR Realty.

The Chestermere Catholic community gathered for a wind-up social with snacks and refreshments provided by the Catholic Women’s League after each of the three mass’s held this past weekend. Parishioners were treated to a slide show of photographs from the climbing adventure while the climbers were on hand to share their stories.

For St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, building the church is about building community. Plans for Angels on High 2014 are already underway and will be announced soon.
