Chestermere Health Centre Update

Just Two Months Until Opening

CHESTERMERE – As fast as 2012 seemed to come and go, so too was the speed at which the Chestermere Community Health Centre (CCHC) seemed to sprout out of the ground raising into the landscape of Chestermere. Construction crews have been working diligently to make sure the building at 786 Kinniburgh Boulevard is completed sometime in early March, 2013. Karen Wourms, co-chair of the Community Health Centre, said they are still looking for a few doctors to fill in after hours and weekends at the health centre. She wants to put the word out to any of the readers who may know of a doctor who might like to practice family medicine in this wonderful town; please give them a call and let them know about our brand new facility opening soon. At the moment Dr. Chris Tam is the lead doctor at the centre and is heading up the recruitment challenge.
Alberta Health Services has been secured as the anchor tenant and will occupy half of the 22,000 square feet of floor space. The CCHC will also be home to a pharmacy, complimentary medical services, other retail space and a restaurant.
For more information about the project, visit their Facebook page under “Chestermere Community Health Centre”. You can also visit their website at www.chestermerehealth.ca or e-mail them at healthcommittee@chestermere.ca . As well, if you know of a doctor who may want to relocate, call Dr. Tam at 403-271-8288.
