Cupcakes Anyone? Make Your Own at ‘Preserving Our Skills’ June 22nd

2012-July-Preserving-050

Well, maybe making and decorating cupcakes is not a heritage skill, but it sure is a good one to have when you look at the price of those fancy ones you can buy at the store! On Saturday June 22nd, 9am to noon you will be taught by an expert to produce yummy iced and decorated cupcakes to take home AND a loaf cake! Adults and children can register and the workshop is free, courtesy of the Chestermere Ag Society. And stay for the afternoon too ( 1-4pm) and learn how to knit a dishcloth and hand quilt a square. Now those ARE traditional skills! This is free, educational fun for the whole family. You will need to bring a few supplies of your own and will be given a list on registering. The fun takes place here in Chestermere in the Chestermere Regional Recreation Complex, 201 W Chestermere Drive, all day on June 22nd. Spots are limited so call Carol at 403 272 7170 x 223 or accounting@chestermerecrca.com to reserve your spot!
And after you have taken the workshop, practice over the summer and enter in the Chestermere Red Ribbon Competition! Check out the colourful Red Ribbon Country Fair booklets which can be picked up at the CRCA office right now or go to the Country Fair Facebook page for a peek. https://www.facebook.com/ChestermereCountryFair
