Garden-Competition-2011

With all the beautiful flowers and exquisite gardens seen by the Community in Bloom judges on August 9th during their tour of the town of Chestermere, we should be in for quite a display in the horticulture section of the Chestermere Country Fair Red Ribbon competition Saturday September 14th! And those great visuals can be turned into prizes by just entering your posies or potatoes. Ribbons, cash prizes, and the Flower Award trophy or for those who dabble in growing edibles, the Vegetable Herbs and Fruit trophy award. The amateur horticulturists on the Red Ribbon committee have created a list of those flowers, vegetables, herbs and fruit that will be still blooming or ripe by Red Ribbon entry day, Friday September 13th ( 11am to 6pm only). Click here to see the booklet

Entry tags can be obtained beforehand to fill out (avoid the Friday rush!) at the CRCA Ag Society office 201 West Chestermere Drive. Some guidelines for displaying your entries are available on the Country Fair Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ChestermereCountryFair or if you have any questions you can call 403 272 7170 x 223 to be connected with someone who can help you with your entry preparation ( trimming and displaying can make or break your chances to win). Those who might like to get more involved and help for an hour or so with the entry take in on Friday Sep 13th, or walk with and assist the judges later that evening, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Bhupi at bhupin@telus.net
