Speed Limit Changes For Langdon

LANGDON – Having the speed limits in your neighbourhood increase rather than decrease is an unusual move however, on February 12, 2013, Rocky View County Council reviewed the Langdon speed assessment report and directed administration to increase the speed limits of 3 of the roads in the Hamlet of Langdon. Residents of the tiny hamlet voiced their opinion and Rocky View County listened.
The first of the 3 changes is the 60 kilometre per hour speed limit zone on Township Road 234 (Glenmore Trail) from Centre Street/Highway 797. That stretch of roadway will be extended to 200 metres east of the Hanson Drive intersection.
Currently along Centre Street from Dead Horse Road to the southern hamlet boundary the speed is posted at 40 kilometres per hour and the speed limit zone will increase to 60 kilometres per hour.
Finally, Dead Horse Road from Centre Street to the eastern hamlet boundary will increase from 40 kilometres per hour to 60 kilometres per hour.
Some residents have been notified via a Facebook page and by an update at the Rocky View County website. The new speed limit signs will be installed before the end of March 2013.
