The last week saw Chestermere’s own rise to the top in show jumping competition. The Mid Summer Classic taking place at Rocky Mountain Show Jumping was home to competitors from all across Western Canada in a five day competition highlighting all levels of show jumping.
Once again Chestermere was well represented by a team of girls from our local stable, Sweettalk Stables. Led by coach Joyce Enders, the girls, Hope Enders, Shae-lynn Enders, Karrissa Enders, Mikayla Brabant, Taylor Lamphee, Serenity Enders and Kristin Gretener performed extremely well exceeding all expectations.
Besides the numerous ribbons won for clear rounds and placings from 1st place to 7th place there were a couple of notable wins for the girls. Both Mikayla Brabant and Kristin Gretener won reserve champion in their respective classes.
And of special note was the team placing in the C.S.I.E. $5,000 Nations Cup. This is a team competition, each team is made up of four riders, one jumping at .75m, one at .85m, one at .90m and one at 1.0m. Out of 19 teams competing, team “Sweettalkers” (comprised of Hope Enders on Ultra-Violet, Shae-lynn Enders on Kolour Kode, Taylor Lamphee on Prince Charming and Kristin Gretener on Echo of the Valley) placed 3rd, sharing in the prize money.
Sweettalk Stables continues to coach and teach these riders to be successful and those of us who are lucky enough to see the accomplishments of these girls are continually amazed to see just how far they can go. To follow Sweettalk Stables and their accomplishments please check us out on Facebook.
