With the latest craze of zombies seen in shows like ‘The Walking Dead’ and the movie ‘World War Z,’ it was not a surprise when the idea of a zombie run was proposed, and the Zombie Crusher came to life (or death!).
As part of the The Chestermere Walks program the 1st Annual Zombie Crusher 1 km and 5 km walk/run will be taking place on Saturday November 2, 2013 at the Chestermere Recreation Centre Soccer Fields.
Participants get the opportunity to dress up like a Zombie and walk or run the 1 km loop, or if you’re feeling ambitious continue on with the 5 km route. While you are on the course your mission is to seek out the mental health zombies equipped with mental health facts that you can take and enter into a draw for a prize basket at the finish line.
Children, adults and seniors alike are all welcome to come and get moving! Check in and race package pick up takes place at the Chestermere Recreation Centre at 12:30 pm, with the festivities starting at 1:00 pm. There will be hot chocolate, face painters, door prizes and lots of fun! The cost is $10.00 and everyone gets a souvenir Zombie Crusher toque.
Hurry now and register at the Chestermere Library by Thursday October 31st to ensure we have a toque for you. For more info please email cathy.burness@crpcn.ca or call 403-272-9025.
