All different kinds of businesses were featured at the expo, with most providing informational pamphlets in ‘Swag Bags’ offered to the first 200 visitors.

March 22nd marked the sixth annual Mind, Body, and Spirit Expo at the Chestermere Recreation Centre. With vendors directly from Chestermere, or ones dealing with holistic, natural, homemade, and health-orientated products and services, attendees of the event had the chance to branch out and get a chance to experience all of the alternative services available.

At the LifePath Wellness table, Lesley Smith talked about Med Spa that LifePath will be getting soon, “It should be officially running by around June,” Smith says, “we will have the first Sciton machine in North America which will help in skin rejuvenation.”

They also featured the Naturopath section hosted by Emma Stokes, who began working for the program in September. At this table, there was a machine from NanoVi Technology called the Eng3, which is used to help assist the body’s immune system as well as repair damage at the cellular level. The bio-identical signal that is required for the body to perform at such a high level is transmitted through moist air from the device’s moveable arm, which you breathe in for 20-minute sessions. Users of the device at the event said that they felt lighter, their mind felt clearer, and that they overall felt better after the session. This allowed for the Naturopath to see how people responded to it, and whether it was beneficial for use at LifePath.

Booths like Scentsy, a fragrance business that makes candles and room fresheners were also at the event, as well as a woman who owns her own handcrafted wirework jewelry business called Corabella. Tracey Morelli’s jewelry is made from either 100% copper or brass, and contains no nickel materials in it. This feature is highly sought out by people with sensitive skin that react to the buttons on jeans and belt buckles that have a nickel allergy. From rings to necklaces to bracelets, Morelli had just about every unique accessory a person could ever want, “I like to make the items look antique,” she says, “but sometimes I use actual antique items to make the jewelry.” For example, she had necklaces with old keys on them on display. You can visit her website at www.mycorabella.com.

At another table, a girl by the name of Madelaine McCracken was showcasing her photography. Although the photographs appeared to be professionally taken, McCracken was proud to admit she had taken and edited each one on her iPhone 4s, “I entered a contest about wellbeing at my school with one of these pictures,” she says, “this is something I do to release stress and it is very important to me.” Each framed photograph had sheets where people could order a listed size for their own enjoyment.

Country Garden Crystals also made an appearance at the event, which offers crystals, pendulums, books and oracle decks, Himalayan salt, and Tibetan singing bowls. Located outside of Airdrie, the business focuses on the wellbeing of one’s self and the betterment of an individual’s life through means of meditation and tuning in to the mind. A woman by the name of Charlene Money was offering 15-minute Angel Card readings where people could come and get a sample of the work she does at the store. She teaches classes and holds workshops that can be viewed at the website www.countrygardencrystals.ca.

Once and awhile, people need to take a step back from their everyday life and make sure that they are looking out for themselves. No matter the method, it is important to make sure that you are tending for your mind and making sure you aren’t running on fumes. In fact, try it right now. Take a deep breath in, and then release a long exhale. Sometimes remembering to breathe is all you need to ensure you are keeping a healthy mind, body, and spirit.
