With a friendly challenge in mind for an important cause, the District Officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police challenged the 37 RCMP Detachment Commanders in Southern Alberta to participate in a local bucket challenge for ALS.
Chestermere Detachment Commander, Staff Sergeant Glenn HENRY, with the support of fellow RCMP members and municipal support staff learned first hand what ice cold water feels like. On Friday afternoon Staff Sergeant HENRY received three buckets of ice water initiating fund raising within the Chestermere RCMP Detachment. Some inspiration and helpful tips came from Constable Clayton ROE who was a prior survivor of his own ALS Ice Bucket challenge.
Although being cold and wet is not comfortable members of the Chestermere RCMP recognize this type of feeling is nothing compared to those that suffer with ALS and are proud to support this cause joining many others in Chestermere holding similar fund raising and awareness events.
