Country music, dusty boots, wide brims and shiny buckles – just the way for Chestermerians to kick off stampede.
Dan Arnold and accompanying guitarist filled the air with the twang of down home country music in front of the Chestermere Recreation Centre as the pancakes and sausages were served. Partakers of this, Chestermere’s first public Stampede breakfast of the season, were encouraged to make themselves comfy in the folding chairs set up in front of the makeshift stage for the morning’s entertainment.
Several booths were set up for people to browse through, including a tent run by John and Ruth Wright where you could dress up in western style and have your picture taken and then sign up with Send Out Cards to send friends and relatives pictures of your western celebration.
This event was organized by the C.A.N. group – it is a group made up of businesses in the community that network among each other. Any donations made at this event will be accepted for the Chestermere Regional Food Bank.
