With Halloween right around the corner, SYNERGY put a challenge out to the community for a pumpkin carving contest. After their generous offer to volunteer at the Chestermere Lions Pumpkin Patch, the kids of YELL then extended an invitation to the community to carry on the fun filled weekend by coming to Town Hall on Sunday October 19th and carve a pumpkin.
They offered this as a free activity to the community and even offered free pumpkins as the Chestermere Lions donated the left over pumpkins from the pumpkin patch the day before.
With tables set up in the foyer of Town Hall, the YELL kids were ready to share their carving knowledge and help out if needed.
If you weren’t able to make the event, you can still get in on the competition. Drop off your carved pumpkin at Town Hall from Monday October 20th – Thursday October 23rd. Judging will take place at 3:30pm on October 23rd.
There are three categories of which you can submit your pumpkin – Family (teams with members 9 and under), Youth (ages 10-15) and Adult (16 years+). Prizes will be awarded for scariest, most creative and best artistic ability.
