The Chestermere Dog Walking Program, part of Chestermere Walks, concluded on June 30th. Rain or shine both two legged and four legged enjoyed the opportunity to socialize, make friends and the great outdoors.
The group met on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 in front of Pet Planet and then made their way to the off leash dog park. Each week the participants entered their names for the June 30th draw. Congratulations to the following winners:
Dustin Pivarnyik – $30 gift certificate – Chestermere Veterinarian Clinic
Monica Pivarnyik – $25 gift certificate – Pawticular Pooch
Cathy Stamler – $25 gift certificate – Pawticular Pooch
Pet Planet also offered a weekly gift to the lucky participant, which included a bag of biscuits (the doggy kind), a tennis ball and other goodies for our four legged friends.
A special thank you to Steve King of Chestermere Therapy Dogs Society for taking the time to talk to the group on Off Leash Dog Park Etiquette. We would also like to extend our thanks to the Chestermere Veterinarian Clinic, Pawticular Pooch, Pet Planet and The Chestermere Anchor for their support of this program.
We have had a couple of requests to start up the Chestermere Dog Walking Program again in the fall. Please give your thoughts on the day and time to Carla Hogan at carla.hogan155@gmail.com or Vicki Klinger at recreation@chestermerecrca.com. We will consider all suggestions. Also for a free pedometer or more information on the Chestermere Walks Program contact Vicki or visit the website at www.chestermerewalks.ca.
Thank you to all the participants, two legged and four legged for joining us in rain or shine. Keep up the good walk.
