On Saturday, June 14, 2014, Chestermere Plays hosted a play day at the former Bargain Shop location. This event attracted many families who came out to enjoy the free, fun filled day. Many local agencies, organizations, and vendors participated in the event by providing hands on, interactive play opportunities for Chestermere families. These agencies included: AARCS, BrightPath Learning Centre, Chestermere Montessori Academy, Chestermere Community Recreation Association, Chestermere Public library, Expedia Travel, Formative 5 Coalition, Jamie Service (author/illustrator), CST Consultants Inc., Garden Scents, Discovery Toys, E.C.I. Leaning Academy, Evolve Learning Inc., Lakeridge Community Church, Little Acorns Preschool, LifePath Wellness , Kidz 1st Network Parent Link Centre, Primary Care Network, and Stepping Stones to Mental Health.
Chestermere Plays is an initiative in collaboration with local agencies and organization to “bring back play” for Chestermere families and residents. This event was held to support the physical and emotional health of children, individuals, and families, while bringing a community together for a fun filled day. It is the intention that Chestermere Plays will have an increasing presence in Chestermere with future planned events.
