With a community as awesome as Chestermere is, what a great way to kick off the holiday season then coming together for a community Christmas party. For years, the Chestermere Regional Recreation Centre team has hosted the party as a way to bring the community together for the holidays. This year was no different as residents, young and old, came out on Saturday December 6th to spend time together as friends and neighbours as the Christmas season gets into full swing.
With the Chestermere High School band treating guests to beautiful holiday music and a smell in the air of hot chocolate, coffee and yummy treats, the visiting and laughter of residents filled the air.
A variety of local businesses and community groups were on hand to sponsor crafts and activities for the children – while the Whitecappers were a big hit with having Santa all ready to hear the wishes of children and to snap a photo.
If you were still looking to get some Christmas shopping done, the MPP room was turned into a Christmas Marketplace where over forty booths were set up selling beautiful items that would make the perfect gift for anyone on your shopping list this Christmas.
Christmas wouldn’t be the same without a hayride in a snow cover field while hearing the beautiful sound of the jingle bells that adorned the gorgeous horses of Paul’s Wagon Rides who was there to give friends and families a peaceful ride around the rec centre.
