As you cruise down Merganser Drive or Chestermere Boulevard chances are that you’ve glanced over at the skateboard park, and chances are that you’ve also done a double take when the five pairs of shoes dangling by their laces above the skateboard park has caught your eye.
According to the LakeMed staff whose windows look out onto the park it started out with three pairs of shoes; that number has grown to five. We don’t know who put them there or why but, like the swings that keep being twisted around the support beams, we wish they weren’t.
FortisAlberta is responsible for removing the shoes from the power lines and it’s a costly and tricky process so please, next time you have a pair of shoes, keep them on your feet.
