At 9:35 pm or 21:35 hours on July 8, 2014 a single vehicle roll-over collision occurred on Hwy 1 at Range Road 283 near Chestermere, AB.
RCMP units from both Strathmore and Chestermere detachments attended the scene and determined that an east bound minivan lost control and rolled through the median to the west bound shoulder of Hwy 1.
The driver of the vehicle died at the scene and the passenger was transported to the hospital where she died a short time later. Strathmore RCMP are continuing this investigation and believe speed to be a factor in this collision.
The names of the deceased are not being released at the request of the family.
This is just another reminder that as drivers we’re all responsible for how we drive and for the other lives that are in our care on a daily basis, both in the car and in the other cars around us.
Please, drive safely and take a moment out of your day to think about or pray for this family.
