On Friday, June 6, 2014 Isabelle Bilinski is doing a brave thing and shaving her head for cancer. She is donating the money that she raises to the Canadian Cancer Society and donating her hair to Locks of Love.

Isabelle has less than a month left until she shaves her head at Image Cuts Studios in Calgary, Alberta on Friday, June 6, 2014. “Lots of my family has been affected by cancer and I wanted to do something to help. Hopefully find that one day there will be a cure.” I Hope for a Cure is the name of Isabelle’s fundraiser because her first name is Isabelle and that is why the I is there and her middle name is Hope so that explains why it is I Hope For a cure! Isabelle is 15 years old and in grade 10. She has always wanted to help make the world a better place and now she has found her way.

Mr. and Mrs. Bilinski were very proud when they found out about Isabelle’s bold decision to shave her head. Sean and Jodee are going to support Isabelle emotionally and they will help by providing her with lots of sunscreen and hats. “I did not think she would ever do this because it is a brave thing to do in a society where people care about appearances.” Isabelle’s parents are very supportive of their daughter and her decision.

Isabelle’s boyfriend had a few words to say about her generous action. When he was asked how he felt when Isabelle told him he replied with ” I felt very proud to know her and I believe that it is a very special thing to do because not many people would go through with it. ” Alex would like to support Isabelle through this by doing anything he can do and anything she needs as well as supporting her with donations and going there when she gets her head shaved. When Alex found out about Isabelle’s bold action he said he wasn’t necessarily shocked but he just wasn’t expecting it because its a brave thing to do especially in today’s day. “I always knew she was a good person and willing to go against the status quo to help people in need.”

This will be Isabelle’s second act towards finding a cure for cancer, last June Isabelle, some of her family and her TaeKwon-Do club, Focus TaeKwonDo took part in the Relay for Life.

Isabelle has been planning to cut her hair for two years and decided to shave it instead because Isabelle’s Dad said if she shaved her head he would match the highest single donation up to a max of $1,000 and there came that brave challenge that she accepted. If you would like to donate this is the website address.

With so little time left for Isabelle to have hair means that there is less time to donate, so please feel free to donate by using the link up above.
