Hundres and Thousands were at it again on December 11th spreading Christmas cheer

As the season of giving is upon us, a group that is known for their random acts of kindness all year long, enlisted some help in spreading some Christmas cheer on December 11th. As in months past, if you checked out www.hundredsandthousands.ca, you would have noticed that the countdown began at the beginning of the week, showing that they were heading back to Chestermere.
The anonymous contact at hundreds and thousands let me in on a few details just a couple hours before the surprise kicked off. “Tonight’s surprise is exactly that. We have empowered a few people to do some deliveries however gave them the freedom to choose where. They haven’t told us where they will be although we hope to know by 7. It is going to be a great night for 30 some odd people.”
As the 7 o’clock hour got closer, a sense of anticipation and excitement could be felt waiting to hear what they were up to. The next communication came from the mystery person(s) saying, “Looks like they decided to do several parking lots in town with $30 visa cards. And have asked if they can remain anonymous as well.”
Within minutes of that message, posts were popping up on Chestermere social media sites with residents sharing their stories of coming out to their vehicles in different parking lots in town and discovering a tinsel decorated envelop on the windshield of their vehicle.
“I came out of taekwondo tonight at the Rec Centre about 8:15pm to a card with some gold garland resting on my windshield. Sure that it was a flyer for an upcoming Xmas event I snagged it and hopped in my jeep. To my utter amazement, and Zane’s as he was with me, it was a $30 Visa card simply addressed To: You From: Hundreds and Thousands. I immediately went online to research this, thinking it must be some scam, but was pleasantly surprised at the articles I found about this great community initiative!! I just thought you might want to know that this has brought another smile to a Chestermere resident’s face. I plan to use $30 to pay it forward”, said Aubrey Fletcher, one of the many recipients of the random act of kindness.
This group clearly doesn’t need the season of Christmas to spread joy & acts of kindness, but it definitely added a little more Christmas spirit. And if you’re wondering when they’ll strike again, their website is already counting down to their next spree of kindness.
