July 25th, 2014 was the start date of the Inaugural Chestermere Fire Service Golf Tournament hosted at the Lakeside Greens Golf Course in Chestermere in support of SYNERGY. The cost to register was $135 per person and this registry included prizes, dinner, and amazing silent auction items.
The day started out overcast and eventually developed into scattered showers throughout Chestermere but this in no way deterred golfers who were ready to hit the green and have some fun – in a professional way of course.
Before the tournament began at 1 pm participants gathered at the side of the Lakeside Greens Golf Course Club House and mingled around their assigned golf carts. The Chestermere Fire Department had parked two of their fire trucks outside the front doors and many golfers were taking advantage of this photo opportunity as shown by Sandra Kitchen, Darcy-Peirce Wells, Heather Peirce, and Casey Peirce ‚ the ‘sunshine girls’ from Canmore.
Once the welcoming announcements and instructions were given, lines of golf carts puttered off along the golf course paths, a stirring sight to the casual onlooker.
All the teams took home prizes for their donations and they had a great time at the evening’s festivities. Looking forward to the next golf tournament.
