With much excitement from the community, the new ‘No Frills’ grocery store opened its doors on Friday November 21st. After years of only having one grocery option here in Chestermere, residents could wait no longer – not even a minute longer as they arrived even before the ribbon cutting.
Those involved with the building, the staff, MLA Bruce McAllister, Mayor Patricia Matthews and other members of town council were on hand to have a walk around the new store and to welcome them to Chestermere.
For Franchise Owner, Eric Sinclair, this opening day held a doubly special significance. As he was congratulated and preparing to cut the ribbon on this brand new store, ten years ago on that very day, Sinclair started his first day of working with No Frills as a part time produce clerk in Ontario. “I am very excited to be open! A huge thank you to the community for coming out and for already showing their support. I know many people in the community have heard about this NO FRILLS store opening and have been curious about what this would mean to them. My team and I are incredibly proud of this store and we look forward to being able to meet our customer’s needs with great products and low prices. We look forward to seeing everyone very soon,” says franchisee Eric Sinclair Sinclair.
No Frills store will be open Sunday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
