In response to Dr. Karim Sharafats letter to the editor.
As a neighbor in the Cove, I can say it was a minority that was displeased with the street sweeping that took place in our cul de-sac, not a majority. Majority do park their vehicles on their property. Majority of Cove residence look forward to having their streets cleaned after a long winter, creating sand & gravel build-up, which obstructs the flow of water into the catch basins & some cases creates flooding.
The street sweeper returned because it wasn’t able to sweep by the catch basins due to cars blocking them. The minority, have more cars than parking, or use parking as storage!
Someone snow-blowed the heaviest snowfall into the middle of cul de-sac, rather than into their yard or to the side of their yard, which ended up causing majority of neighbors to maneuver around this obstacle, leaving their drive ways. The snow plow had difficulties turning to sand at the stop sign. If a fire truck had to come in to the cul de-sac there would have been issues. Not taking any regard towards these scenarios, is not acceptable.
Then there’s the person on the drive that washes his muddy ATV, off onto the side walk, doesn’t clean the pile of mud, so people have to walk onto the road. People if that kind of lack of consideration is not in your list of priorities, move to an acreage.
The street sweeper did a great job, by coming back & cleaning excess gravel & sand. That’s what majority expect for their tax dollars! Returning sweeper, wastes time & money, due to non-compliance to a typical spring clean-up which occurs every year. All that is expected is for people to move their cars. If you have nowhere to park your extra vehicles, then clean out your garage.
Majority of residence want & take pride in a clean community. I appreciate the pride the road dept. takes in keeping it that way!
HAVING REGARD FOR YOUR NEIGHBORS & YOUR COMMUNITY , MAKES A GREAT COMMUNITY!
P.S. – As for your ticket issue "NO OPINION".
