While you are at the Chestermere Country Fair this weekend September 12th at the CRCA Complex, don’t miss a great chance to get your copy ( or several for your family and friends!) of the Chestermere history book, ‘Chestermere a Home for All Seasons’ at a special 10th anniversary price of $10 (regular $48). As well, grab a piece of anniversary cake, and buy a ticket on an upcoming raffle for a John Snow lithograph (‘Vence’) donated to CHF by Romana Kaspar-Kraft, Chestermere resident and owner of The Collector’s Gallery of Art in Inglewood. Monies from this raffle will go toward an intended purchase of a trailer to store and move the artifacts out to schools and other public locations & events where these can be viewed during presentations made by the Chestermere Historical Foundation.
If you miss CHF at the Fair, you can also catch us at Arts Days, September 25th and 26th at City Hall. http://www.chestermere.ca/artsdays where on sept 25th CHF will unveil in the library the gift of another painting gift from Romana, this time one of Chestermere Lake done by Margaret Shelton, Chestermere artist and well known Alberta painter.
For more information about CHF and it’s busy schedule of preserving Chestermere’s history, go to www.chestermerehistory.org. Membership is a good old fashioned price, $5, and no monthly meeting goes by without the discovery of some new and interesting fact about the history of this fast growing little city.
