Back in September, you might remember the remarkable sight of seeing a house being manoeuvered carefully down Marina Drive to its new lot. The home needed to be moved as it was discovered, in August 2012, that the twelve year old house had been built on top of an abandoned exploratory well.
An elaborate plan, which included relocating the family that was living in the home when this was discovered, to where the house would go, the actual moving of the house and then what would be done with that empty lot where the house had sat for over a decade, all began being put together piece by piece.
If you’ve driven down Invermere Drive over the past weeks, you’ll now notice that, just as promised, that lot where the home once was now is a gorgeous park. A paved walk way takes runs through the middle, with beautiful trees and shrubs with a gazebo type structure standing proudly in the centre. Just another gorgeous addition to our beautiful city.
