The moments of our lives end up making up our story. The life story of you with highs, lows and those irreplaceable moments. Falling in love always stays as a fond memory and can sometimes even be worthy of the statement, “this is going to be a great story for our kids and grandkids”.
People fall in love in a wide variety of places. Meeting that one true love in the workplace is a fairly common tale. But, for this family, falling in love with a co-worker is turning into a family tradition.
Kelli Olsen is the owner of the Chestermere A & W and has been since it opened its doors four years ago. But Kelli’s roots with A&W run a lot deeper than employment. Olsen has been with A+W for twenty seven years. Twenty five years ago she met and married her first husband while working together at the old Forest Lawn location and they had two sons, now 24 and 22. “Both kids have worked on and off for me for the past ten years,” said Olsen.
When she opened the Chestermere location just over four years ago, both her sons started working for her part time. “I have a supervisor, Romana that started at our Forest Lawn location eight years ago when she came to Canada from the Philippines. Eric, my oldest son was who trained her at Forest Lawn location”, explained Olsen.
Well low and behold, just as the story of his mom and dad, Eric and Romana fell in love last year and got married June 28th, 2015. Almost like history repeating itself. “The Chestermere location really does have a family feel to it. We have mothers and sons and mothers and daughters and husbands and wives working for us. We celebrate weddings and birthdays and christenings. It’s the first time in my career that I’ve had this kind of dynamic and it really does change the feel of the store”, said the proud mother of the groom.
With a long line of love surrounding them, this couple will definitely have a beautiful love story to tell generations to come. Congratulations Eric and Romana!
