Celebrity is modern luxury. From the moment of embarkation, you are in for the holiday of a lifetime. Welcome to your happy place!
You will be met by a smiling, friendly crew offering you cold orange juice, champagne or a mimosa. A “welcome aboard” buffet has been set up for you to enjoy while waiting to sail. Spend the next few hours getting to know the layout of the beautifully appointed ship which will be your home for the next two weeks. Around every corner you will find something to give the “ahhh” moment. After the mandatory emergency lifeboat drill, your vacation will officially begin.
In addition to the traditional dining rooms, but be sure to check out the specialty restaurants Qsine, Blu, Murano, Oceanliners or Tuscan Grill, depending on the ship. Menus are displayed for you to see what each has to tempt your palate. Reservations can be made to suit you individual dining preferences. Another area to visit early is the spa and gym. Appointments book quickly and offer treats such as massage, while looking out at the ocean waves. We highly recommend the Thai Poultice or Bamboo massages.
Our chosen itinerary has two sea days both to start and end allowing us to be pampered. Onboard, the world indeed does revolve around you the guest.
In Aruba you will notice the distinct Dutch influence, a wide assortment of shops, crafts and history. We chose to snorkel with Captain Jethro, a local tour company. Fabulous experience!
Overnight we sailed to Curacao. Your first glimpse of pastel shaded building entices you ashore. UNESCO World Heritage walks teach participants about the islands colorful past. This is the home of Blue Curacao Liqueur, caves, white sand beaches and more than 12 miles of coral reefs.
Next up, Grenada known as the “Island of Spice”. Scents of cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg are everywhere. Inhale deep! City/Island tours take in all the must dos.
Barbados features the Harrison Caves, rum factories, orchids, green monkeys, scenery and water sports. This island is believed to be two land masses pushed together creating a variety of terrain to explore.
St. Lucia is the lushest of all, boasting rainforests and volcanic mountains – the most famous being “The Pitons”. Snorkeling beneath the Pitons is a must do. Calm clear turquoise water made viewing the thousands of tropical fish, coral and a huge barracuda an experience not forgotten.
Antigua offers swimming, rain forest tours and amazing golf opportunities. This is the most cosmopolitan of the islands, offering high fashion, fine dining, local crafts and products. People here refer to this as “living the good life”
St. Maarten/St Martin is shared by Dutch and French cultures. White sand beaches, jewelry stores, restaurants and local crafts are plentiful. (We can even provide a referral to guide you in your jewel purchases.) Experience the America Cup Sailing Regatta as part of a racing crew under the watchful eye of the expert sailors.
St. Thomas offers sky rides, butterfly farms, beaches, golf and shopping for your pleasure.
With a multitude of lounges on board, we chose a location to meet every afternoon to compare experiences and relax before dinner. Our favorite is the sunset bar, where we would watch the latest island fade in the distance knowing that with each day break, new adventures would begin.
Once onboard a Celebrity ship you can put away the worries and stress of your day to day life, relax and be pampered beyond belief! You will soon realize that the worst thing about cruising is that it is too long a time before we set sail again.
