Chestermere RCMP Drug Search Warrant

On the afternoon of January 14, 2015 members of the Chestermere RCMP executed a drug search warrant at a residence in the Sandy Beach Cove area of Chestermere, Alberta. Through various investigational techniques members of the Calgary ALERT team identified and gathered evidence identifying a 20 year old male Chestermere resident as a suspect for trafficking various unlawful drugs.

Chestermere RCMP members just after noon on January 14, 2015 conducted a vehicle stop on Range Road 241a and arrested the suspect without incident. Thereafter the search warrant at the Sandy Beach Cove residence was executed. There was no threat to the public during the vehicle stop or during the execution of the search warrant at the residence. Substantial amounts of marihuana and cash were seized as evidence from the accused and from the residence.

The Calgary ALERT, as the prime investigators, laid charges of Section 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (possession for the purpose of trafficking), Section 354 CC (possession of property obtained by crime) and Section 88(1) CC (possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose) against Justin DANG of Chestermere, Alberta. Justin DANG was released from custody and will be appearing in Provincial Court in Calgary on January 30, 2015.
