Coral’s interest in politics started at an early age, beginning with AP Political Science and Model UN in High School. Since then, her career has progressed through engineering, sustainable community planning, community engagement, and entrepreneurship.
While completing her B.Sc. in geomatics engineering at the University of Calgary, Coral developed an interest in community planning.
Recently, Coral completed a master’s degree at the U of C, again in geomatics engineering. Her research during this time enhanced her appreciation of participatory democracy at all levels, and for the enabling technologies.
Currently, Coral is leveraging her experience in web app development, gained while completing her master’s, to build a company offering location analysis services online. This evolution in her career path stems from her ongoing interest in business and entrepreneurship. As an entrepreneur, she has an interest in the business community and related policy.
Coral is also engaged in the agricultural industry and rural community, as an assistant trainer with a quarter horse breeding operation based in Rocky View.
Coral volunteers regularly, beginning with her election as second-year representative to her student society while in university, followed by her acclamation as president of the same, for two terms. While in graduate school, she represented her department to the Graduate Students’ Association. She has also been engaged in supporting wounded veterans of the Afghan war.
Coral currently lives in northwest Calgary, where she has lived for almost two decades. Her top priority for this riding is Alberta’s Sustainable Future, including the diversification of the Alberta economy and the addition of jobs that are not tied to the oil industry.
