Credit card fraud

On November 22, 2015, Strathmore RCMP responded to a complaint of a group of individuals who had obtained food and lodging in Strathmore with fraudulent credit cards. Further investigation revealed these suspects attended various retailers in town, making purchases. The suspects work by manually entering in fraudulent card numbers and appear to manipulate the pin pads. Attached are photos obtained from video surveillance. If you have any information regarding this occurrence or can identify the suspects, please call Strathmore RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Strathmore RCMP would like to remind retailers to be mindful of anyone trying to manually enter in numbers on pin pads and to be aware of this fraudulent activity.
