On Sunday May 31st, the soccer fields at the Chestermere Regional Rec Centre were packed with little ones in their colorful uniforms participating in their mid-season tournament. The CRCA Recreational Soccer Program is for 5 – 8 year olds. This year there were 150 kids in the program who play once a week from around May 1st until the end of June.
Through the sponsorship from Tim Hortons, the CRCA is able to offer an inexpensive program that ensures every child gets to play. The sponsorship also makes it possible to provide all the kids with a t-shirt and year end medals.
For the past three tournaments, the CRCA also partnered with Strathmore and Langdon which enables the kids to more opportunities to play and enrich their soccer experience. Strathmore offers an Icebreaker tournament at the beginning of the season, the CRCA provides the mid-season tournament and Langdon will host the year end tournament.
Our community is lucky to have organizations like the CRCA and their sponsors, like Tim Horton’s to provide excellent programs like this for our youngsters.
