There is a new Red Ribbon competition to see who can bake the finest goodies! A long-time Red Ribbon Volunteer, Rosemary Clysdale, is wont to bring to the Red Ribbon Committee meetings her wonderful lemon bars–even the crumbs are gobbled up! What better recipe to use in the newest competition # 122 in Baking, than to have everyone make that same Lemon Bar recipe. You can find the details on page 13 of the Red Ribbon Booklet, available for pick up in hard copy at the Chestermere Library, City Hall lobby, or CRCA office or online at https://www.facebook.com/ChestermereCountryFair?fref=ts . And the bars will be judged by Gwendolyn Richards, Calgary Herald Food columnist and blogger. Coincidentally, Gwendolyn has just published her book “Pucker; a cookbook for citrus lovers.” The winner will receive a copy of Gwendolyn’s book and for others who may want a copy, Gwendolyn will be upstairs at ‘View From the Top’ the free wine and cheese tasting that takes place 7-9pm on September 11th in the curling rink lounge. Entry tags are important and getting them done before you bring in your entries, September 11,th 11am to 6pm, is a great idea–avoid the late afternoon rush. Here is an example to help you get them right. Entry tags are available for pick up ahead of time at the CRCA office 201 West Chestermere Drive and also will be available on September 11th starting 11am in the curling rink where entries can be dropped off until 6pm.
