Premier Prentice says the election is so that Albertans can have a choice in their future

There was quite a buzz in Chestermere on Friday April 17th as rumour had it that the big blue PC bus belonging to Premier Prentice would be rolling into Chestermere.  And at 4pm on Friday, that’s exactly what happened.

With a couple hundred supporters on hand and holding PC campaign signs, the Premier and his wife, Karen, arrived at the campaign office of current MLA, Bruce McAllister, and spent some time with the awaiting crowd.

“All of these campaigns really are about a bunch of people, coming together for our future.   This campaign is about our children, our grandchildren – it’s about our future.  This Province is at a turning point and that is what this election is about.  It’s about an importance in putting forward a plan to Albertans, a plan that is realistic and deals with the challenges that we have in the short term and also deals with the long term promise of the long term of Alberta”, said the Premier.

Fiscal responsibility, rebuilding the Heritage Fund and giving Albertans the choice of their future were the key points in the Premiers speech.

Prentice went on to praise McAllister, who is currently in full campaign mode to maintain his seat as the MLA for Chestermere-Rockyview, saying “There is nobody who has a brighter future in politics in this province and public service in this province than Bruce McAllister and I’m proud to have him on my team.  He showed great courage joining the Progressive Conservative party and each of you are a part of this team and you know the quality of the man I’m talking about. If you’re on his team, you’re on my team.”
