Let’s face it, the 80’s will forever be known as a decade of amazing music! Everything from pop, rock, r & b and country – the 80’s had some of the best music. Mix that with big hair, big world events and scandals…and the 80’s are undeniable a pretty rad decade.
After last year’s smash hit of ‘80’s Solid Gold’ left audiences craving more, the team at Stage West promised crowds that they would do it all again this year. And boy have they ever.
Opening on November 13th, Stage West kicked off its latest show – ‘80’s Solid Gold 2′ which has gone above and beyond the promise they made when wrapping their 2014 show.
From the creative minds of Timothy French and Howard Pechet, the extremely talented cast at Stage West takes the crowd on an exciting and memorable ride through the decade of the 80’s. While providing comical news breaks of the biggest news stories that came through those ten years, they also paid proper respect to the amazing musical geniuses that rocked the 80’s. Musical numbers were broke up into categories which showcased hard rock, dance, duos, 80s women and many more.
The group even poked a little fun at the quirky acts of the 80’s such as lip sync stars Milli Vanilli, The B-52’s, Bobby McFerrin and MC Hammer… including bright coloured hammer pants.
What 80’s tribute show would be complete without paying honour to the King of Pop… Michael Jackson. With a full set that included some of Jackson’s top hits like “Billie Jean”, “Bad”, The Way You Make Me Feel”, “Rock With You”, “Man In The Mirror”…and, of course, “Thriller”. You would have thought the king himself was on the stage.
With the rockin’ combination of incredible musical talent, amazing wardrobe that came right out of the 80’s, ‘80’s Solid Gold 2′ had the audience dancing in their chairs and singing along with every hit!
‘80’s Solid Gold 2′ runs until February 7, 2016 and is a must see!!
