The Ice Edge Skating Club, which runs right here in Chestermere, held their Spring StarSkate Demonstration on March 22, 2015 at the Chestermere Regional Recreation Centre. Showcasing the skills that they have been diligently working on and also showing programs that will be skated in upcoming competitions.
These gorgeous ladies, of all ages, took to the ice in lavish outfits. With every flip, turn and jump, applause could be heard from the attentive crowd and smiles beamed from the beautiful faces of the skaters.
Their CanSkate programs are designed for skaters who are interested in developing basic skating skills that can be used for any on-ice activity including hockey, figure skating, ringette or recreational skating. For young skaters that are interested in further enhancing their figure skating skills including test and competitive options, they offer a StarSkate program. Our StarSkate program provides fabulous ice, a gym for off-ice training and we are one of the very few clubs that have a Lebel Jump Harness. This harness helps skaters work on jump techniques from singles to triples.
They also encourage adults to join the youth skaters on the ice in Chestermere. “Whether you are a returning skater or just getting started, you are never too old to skate and it is a great way to stay in shape. We look forward to seeing you on the ice. Whether you are 3 or 93, it’s never too late to skate!”
Skaters at the Spring StarSkate Demonstration were: Natalie Miller, Rachael Matthews, Larissa Kluck, Majo Garcia, Samantha Aboud, Brooklyn Brodie, Meighan Westbury, Rae Webber, Abigail Henry, Neda Ljaljevic, Katlynn Murray, Keira McGillivray, Carmela Albomoz, Erina Nguyen, Harlowe Bren and a special performance by Chloe Pitre.
Congratulations to all the beautiful skaters for their remarkable performances at Sunday’s showcase and good luck to those headed to upcoming competitions.
