With summer officially over, community groups are kicking off their fall activities in Langdon.
“It’s that time of year when everything’s just starting to get organized,” said Jessica Smythe, the Langdon Community Association (LCA) Events Coordinator.
The LCA is running several familiar events again this year. There will be hobby days and paint nights as well as the annual winter carnival in December.
With hobby days, people can come, reserve a table and work on their crafts in a group setting.
“A time…to get away from the kids and do something creative,” said Smythe.
The LCA hosts about five hobby days on weekends each year at the fieldhouse.
Adult paint nights will be held once every couple of months said Smythe. Participants are taught how to paint and come home at the end of the night with a work of art.
“It’s lots of fun,” she said.
Another event that highlights what there is to do in and around Langdon is Energizer Night.
Held in the newly reopened fieldhouse on Sept. 8 showcased fall programs for the community.
“I thought it went good,” said Langdon Energizer Night Organizer Debra Carrobourg.
The night was important to let people know what there is to do both in Langdon and in the area.
“We had quite a few groups that came out,” she said, “A variety of options to show people of Langdon what there is for adults and kids to do.”
Sports teams, Scouts and Guides and other community groups all attended Energizer night.
