Hello Chestermere! Sadly, another young person was killed on a local highway. 19 year old Quinton Peplinski of Langdon died at the scene of an accident on Highway 797. Friends and others from the community gathered at Langdon Field House on March 29 and released balloons to honour his memory. It is especially cruel when we lose our young people. While we do not know the exact circumstances that led to his death, it reinforces our resolve to advocate for safety improvements on our highways.
Last Saturday, World Autism Awareness Day, we held our Light It Up Blue Fundraiser at the Delacour Hall in beautiful weather. It was heartwarming to see the Chili Teams, public, celebrity judges, speakers, and prospective employers gather together to support Inclusion Alberta and Autism Speaks Canada in their efforts to assist in ensuring these very ABLE people become engaged, productive, tax paying members of our society. We would like to thank:
Celebrity Judges: Mazlie Gehring, Mackenzie Murphy, Coral Bliss Taylor, Constable David Graham, RCMP
Our Speakers: Garth Johnson, Meticulon Inc., Laura LaPeare, Bev LaPeare, Angela Pitt, MLA
