Expressions the Dance Gallery of Strathmore is helping there students find the answers to these questions.
Centered below is Paige Gilmour of Chestermere. Paige has been dancing since the age of 6 at EDG. She has been exposed to many performance and competitive opportunities over the years.
As a young dancer/performer she loves having the opportunity to be on stage.
So is this something that will be in her future?
Well EDG wants to make sure that Paige along with all their students are able to answer these questions and hopefully give them some insight to the requirements to be able to reach their goals and dreams.
March 29th 2016, Paige and 13 other dancers from Expressions the Dance Gallery set off to the Big Apple to find out what does it entail to be a professional dancer/performer.
They were given the opportunity to participate in a precision class by a Rockette, tour the world famous Radio City Music Hall and even walk the famous stage. Meet and chat with a present Rockette.
High Kicking not your thing!
How about a workshop with an actress presently performing in Matilda. Yes, a private class to learn a piece from the hit Broadway show. A question and answer period was included and then the evening was filled with going to see the live performance of Matilda.
Maybe you’re thinking that Ballet is your favorite subject. Paige and her dance studio friends had the opportunity to take a class at the American Ballet Theater. In this iconic dance facility accompanied with a pianist, this was one of the group’s favorite classes.
Being exposed to three different workshops may be enough for some but not for the EDG group. A fourth class was in the Contemporary genre. Another Broadway show and tours of the city. To put the icing on the cake the group along with all the parents, chaperones and directors performed a flash mob for the tour bus The Ride.
Well Paige may not know quite yet if New York is for her or not but she has now seen and experienced what is necessary to get there. Set your sites high and reach for the stars!
