Storyhive has launched two new competitions- Music Video: Small Town Edition and Web Series

Storyhive was founded in 2014 by TELUS and provides grants, mentorship and distribution opportunities to creators based in B.C. and Alberta. They have recently launched two new editions: Music Video: Small Town Edition and Web Series.
Music Videos: Small Town Edition, kicked off March 18th and runs through to April 22nd with the finalists being announced in May. Emerging musicians and filmmakers based in Lloydminster and other communities outside of the greater Calgary and Edmonton area can apply as project leads for a chance to win one of fourteen 10,000 grants (7 in B.C. & 7 in Alberta) to produce a music video. The public will then vote for their favourite music video and the winner will be announced in July and will receive a residency scholarship at The Banff Centre, valued at $10,000. Interested applicants can apply on www.storyhive.com starting Friday. (Note: This project is still open to residents in Greater Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver, however, the project lead must be based in a small community)
The second contest the Web Series which started on March 11th and goes through to April 11th. Seasoned filmmakers in B.C. and Alberta can pitch their Web Series idea at www.storyhive.com for a chance to be selected by fans to win one of thirty $10,000 grants. The finalists will use their production grants to bring projects to life and fans will then vote to select the top two winners (one from each province). The winners will receive $50,000 grants to produce their full Web Series, customized career training and mentorship and distribution opportunities via TELUS. Finalists will be announced in May, and the winners will be announced in August.
Storyhive says they are made up of three key pieces: the creators, the fans, and the funding. The creators pitch video projects that they’d like to make. The fans support the projects that they want to see. And TELUS takes care of the funding with our Storyhive Production Grants, as well as distribution on TELUS Optik TV On Demand and online – so get your project noticed! Check out www.storyhive.com
