Strathmore RCMP are asking for the public’s help as they investigate an attempted abduction that occurred in Langdon Aug. 16.
RCMP were called to Langdon on the afternoon of Aug. 16 after a man attempted to abduct a young adult woman in the Hamlet.
The suspect is, described by RCMP in a press release as “East Indian or Lebanese descent, with darker skin.” Police said he is about six feet tall.
The women was approached by the male, who was unknown to her.
Despite her rebukes, the male became insistent in his attempts to ‘pick her up.’
She was then grabbed by the male who attempted to force her to take a picture with him and talked about how he wanted her to come with him.
The victim tried to leave but was grabbed by her neck and dragged towards the male’s vehicle.
At this point a bystander intervened causing the male to flee the scene.
At the time of the incident, the man was wearing a white t-shirt with an emblem on it and blue jeans. He was driving a red 4-door sedan and stated he lived in Calgary.
