The Zucchini Car Races were popular as usual, and some of those little veggies were FAST! The Faucher family ran the races smoothly and efficiently, and winners were 1st U10 Cole Williams, 2nd Linkin Monsell, and 3rd Lexi Tennant. In the Over 10s, 1st Rachel Sweeney, 2nd Tarynn Thomson, and 3rd Tristan Le Blanc. In the Open Category, 1st to Jason Williams. Are you planning to race a zucchini next year? There is no age limit, as 72 year old Jennifer James from Edmonton, who made her own zucchini car and raced it proves!
Families were lined up until nearly 5pm picking up entries and prize money, gift cards, and ribbons. None of this would have been possible without the many donors and sponsors who provided more than $6000 in prizes. Please go to the Chestermere Country Fair Facebook page to see whose generosity provided these rewards for the expertise and hard work on Red Ribbon entries. https://www.facebook.com/ChestermereCountryFair.
Appreciation goes out to Chestermere Firefighters who came to judge LEGO competition and NONE of this could have been accomplished without the many volunteers who came out Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and then Saturday to make pies, set up, take in entries, judge all those entries, help with judging, distribute prizes and clean-up! You know who you are, Thank You!!
If you would like to be part of this exciting event next year, let Red Ribbon know through our Facebook page. www.facebook.com/ChestermereCountryFair. See you at the Fair next September!
