An Aug.14 arrest has led to the conviction of one of the suspects earlier this month.
Tyler Lewis, 33, of Calgary was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of breaking instruments, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Lewis pled guilty Oct. 2 to four of the seven charges as well as five charges stemming from incidents in Calgary. He has been sentenced to six-months house arrest followed by a year of probation with conditions.
The charges came after an incident at about 6 a.m. on Aug. 14.
Chestermere RCMP Detachment Commander Staff Sgt. Mark Wielgosz said that a resident called in about a suspicious vehicle with a person getting out to check car doors.
Police located the abandoned vehicle, which was determined to be stolen.
One of the car’s occupants was seen walking in the area and was aprehended. Upon arrest the man was identified as Lewis. He was found to have several stolen items with him.
A second offender who remains in custody was also identified and arrested.
Brandon Davidson, 21, from Calgary has been charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of credit card fraud, two counts of failure to comply with conditions, and three counts of failure to comply with probation.
